New exquisite Marlborough wine range, Petal & Stem!

New exquisite Marlborough wine range, Petal & Stem!

The Wine Company are proud to announce an exciting new range from Yealands, Petal & Stem. Sourced from New Zealand’s premier growing region, Marlborough, Petal & Stem wines embody the fresh natural acidity and succulent ripe fruit flavours that are typical of this globally renowned region, with its young, fertile soils and abundance of natural minerals. ‘Journey into the wildflowers, a secret world between the vines where insects dance from petal to stem, a flourishing  ecosystem. It’s all part of the bigger picture to protect our vines and keep pests away naturally. Every year we plant wildflowers between the vines to create a thriving little ecosystem amongst the rows. The wildflowers provide a home for the kind of insects, who in turn help us keep the unwanted pests away from our vines. So as you’re busy enjoying this wine, remember our little friends between the flowers who help us to do things both differently, and beautifully.’ Exquisite wines from New Zealand’s premier growing region Marlborough; Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Rosè & Pinot Noir. Babydoll by Yealands Named Champion Pinot Gris at Top Aromatic Wine Competition

Babydoll by Yealands Named Champion Pinot Gris at Top Aromatic Wine Competition

Yealands Wine Group (Yealands) has been honoured with the “Champion Pinot Gris” Trophy at the 2016 New Zealand Aromatic Wine Competition for their 2016 Babydoll Pinot Gris. Alongside this outstanding trophy, Yealands received a total of seventeen medals, including three gold medals, two of which were awarded to their 2016 Clearwater Cove Sauvignon Blanc and 2016 The Crossings Sauvignon Blanc. The New Zealand Aromatic Wine Competition (formerly known as the International Aromatic Wine Competition) was created fourteen years ago to “highlight to consumers the best aromatic wine varieties available in the New Zealand market for the wine drinker.” Babydoll by Yealands takes its name from the rare breed of miniature Babydoll sheep introduced by Peter Yealands in 2009 to his Seaview Vineyard in Marlborough, the home of Yealands Estate, as an alternative to using diesel-powered tractors to mow between the vine rows. “Our Babydoll wines have such a unique story behind them that captures how differently we do things on and around the vineyard,” says Yealands’ Chief Winemaker, Jeff Fyfe. “But more than that, these are great quality wines that people enjoy drinking. This award shows that sustainable winemaking and great tasting, top quality wines absolutely go hand in hand. I’m very happy with this trophy and delighted to see a gold medal for two of our popular Sauvignon Blancs as well.” About Yealands Wine Group Yealands Wine Group was formed in September 2011, when Yealands Estate acquired the well-established Hawke’s Bay boutique winery, Crossroads, and successful Marlborough brand The Crossings. The combined entity is now one of the largest privately-owned wine companies in New Zealand, with a global reach...
